September 2011 Alden Events
On Saturday, Sunday and Monday, September 3 & 4 & 5 there will be a Model Train Exhibit at the Alden Depot Park Museum beginning at 1:00 p.m.- 4:00 p.m. and on Monday from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. The displays are furnished by area individuals and include wooden train and various gauge models.  The public is welcome to include their trains for display also. The Museum is located at 10670 Coy Street in Alden. Free to the public. Sponsored by the Alden Historical Society.  For more information call Paul Delange @ 231-377-7333.  Monday will be the last day the Museum is open for this year. 

On Thursday, September 8th the Helena Township will start their Books ‘N Brie Book Club at 3:30 P.M. at the Helena Township Library. Each month a different book will be discussed.  For more information and a list of the books to be discussed, contact the Library at 231-331-4318 or aldenlib@torchlake.com.  The Library is located at 8751 Helena Road in Alden.

On Tuesday, September 13th, from 6-8 pm local artist and photographer, Lisa Lirones will help you master that new digital camera.  Get to know important settings to get the most out of your picture taking and explore new ideas through lighting and perspective.   Taking location photos in the summer; bring your camera. Held at the Helena Township Public Library, 8751 Helena Road, Alden, MI 49612. You can call to register at 231-331-4318.


Saturday, September 17th The Alden Men’s Club will host their annual Harvest Dinner and Live Auction at 6:00 at the Helena Township Community Center located at 8751 Helena Road in Alden.  Tickets and can be purchased in advance by calling Larry Fields at 231-322-2787.  Take out is also available by calling in advance.
